FOUR PEOPLE KILLED EARLY SATURDAY MORNING IN A COLLISION WITH A SEMI-TRAILER NEAR STERLING

A family of four were killed in a crash early Saturday on I-76 near Sterling in northeast Colorado due to a jack-knifed semi on the highway 130. The trailer was perpendicular to the roadway, blocking the entire eastbound lane. A Chrysler Pacifica sport wagon from Michigan traveling eastbound collided with trailer of the semi and went under it killing the occupants.

Understanding truck accident law, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), are critical to handling accident claims involving commercial trucking companies. Trucks and other commercial motor vehicles have to follow additional federal and/or state laws and regulations specific to commercial vehicles. Time is of the essence with trucking claims in order to preserve critical information from the trucking company and semi’s on-board computers.
