Reid J. Elkus

Mr. Elkus was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1973. In 1991, Mr. Elkus moved to Denver, Colorado to receive his undergraduate degree from the University of Denver. After receiving his B.A. from the University of Denver, Mr. Elkus attended law school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon receiving his Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve in 2000, Mr. Elkus moved back to Colorado to begin his legal career at the Greeley Public Defender's Office. After working at the Public Defender's Office, Mr. Elkus moved to Washington, D.C. to receive his L.L.M. in Law and Government from the Washington College of Law. During his L.L.M. Mr. Elkus received a federal externship with the Honorable Reggie B. Walton of the United States District Court of the District of Columbia. After receiving his L.L.M., Mr. Elkus moved back to Denver, Colorado and started a career in private practice. For the last several years Mr. Elkus has represented clients in various courts throughout the State of Colorado including the Federal District Courts of Colorado, including the Bankruptcy Court and various State District and County Courts of Colorado. His representation of his clients ranged from law enforcement officers, to criminal defendants in felony cases, to complex commercial litigation, to union representation. Mr. Elkus is licensed in the State of Colorado and is also licensed to practice law in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. Mr. Elkus is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar.
